Mr Muscle Oven Cleaner Cling 300ml

Verdict

The maintenance product. Use between Oven Pride deep cleans (or as a standalone if you stay on top of it).

Pros

  • Cling foam stays where sprayed
  • Good for ovens cleaned every 1-2 months
  • Wearing gloves still recommended but less essential than Oven Pride
  • Between-clean fix

Cons

  • Not strong enough for years-of-neglect ovens
  • Not enough product for full deep clean
  • 300ml is small

Full review

Mr Muscle Oven Cleaner Cling is the maintenance oven cleaner. The product you use to keep an oven that’s been cleaned in the last few months in continued good condition. It’s not the right tool for a years-of-neglect oven (that’s an Oven Pride job), but for the recurring maintenance role, it’s the smarter spend.

The cling-foam format is the key differentiator. Spray-on oven cleaners typically run off vertical surfaces (door interiors, side walls) within seconds, which means you need to keep re-applying or live with uneven coverage. Mr Muscle’s foam clings to vertical surfaces for the full contact time, letting the active ingredients work where they’re applied.

The formula is less caustic than Oven Pride. You still want to wear gloves and ventilate, but the contact-with-skin risk is lower. For households cleaning the oven every couple of months rather than once a year, this matters because you’ll use the product more often.

The 300ml bottle is smaller than competitors. For a single oven clean, it’s enough. For a stove-top-plus-oven combined job, you might run out. Most households finish a bottle in 2–3 maintenance cleans.

At about £4.50 per bottle, used 2–3 times a year, the cost works out to around £10 a year on routine oven maintenance. Far cheaper than the £6 Oven Pride kit annually (which is what households who neglect maintenance end up needing).

Performance vs Cilit Bang on the same job: Cilit Bang handles the oven door exterior well; Mr Muscle Oven Cleaner is designed specifically for the interior, where the cling-foam advantage matters. They’re complementary rather than substitutes.

Subscribe & Save is enabled but probably not the right setup, you don’t need this on a monthly cadence.

Buy this if: you clean the oven every 2–3 months and want a maintenance product that handles vertical interior surfaces well.

Skip this if: your oven has been neglected for over a year (use Oven Pride), or you barely cook (you don’t need a specialist oven cleaner at all).
