Full review

Mr Muscle Multi-Surface is the default UK kitchen spray. It’s not the best on any single dimension, but it’s reliable, widely available, and consistent in performance. The qualities that matter most for a product you spray dozens of times a week.

The formula handles the bread-and-butter of UK kitchen and surface cleaning: counter tops, hobs (light grease only), splashbacks, glass, tiled walls, painted surfaces. The “no-rinse” claim is broadly accurate for normal residue levels, spray, wipe with a clean cloth, done.

Where Mr Muscle falls short is on baked-on grease. The extractor hood, hob grates after a roast, anywhere with months of heat-baked oil, Mr Muscle won’t shift it. That’s a Cilit Bang job.

The well-documented practical issue: the trigger mechanism. Mr Muscle’s spray trigger reliably fails before the bottle empties, leading to that frustrating moment where the trigger pulls limply and the bottle still has 200ml left. The workaround is to keep an old trigger from a previously-finished bottle and swap it onto the new one. Doesn’t help the brand’s case, but it does save you the bottle.

At 47p per 100ml, it’s competitive with Method on price and slightly cheaper than Ecover. The 750ml bottle lasts a typical UK household around 6 weeks of daily use.

Subscribe & Save is enabled and works at the usual 10% discount tier. Worth setting up if Mr Muscle is your default spray.

The synthetic fragrance is the weakest point compared to Method’s almond. Strong, slightly chemical, fades reasonably quickly.

Buy this if: you want a reliable daily kitchen and surface spray, don’t particularly care about the scent or eco angle, and trust the brand from years of UK shelf presence.

Skip this if: you specifically want better fragrance (Method), septic-safe formula (Ecover), or heavy degreasing power (Cilit Bang).
