About WashAndSave
WashAndSave does one thing: it works out how much each load of laundry, each dishwasher cycle, each spray of multi-surface cleaner actually costs you. Then it tells you, in pence, on Amazon UK today.
The idea started with a noticed-too-many-times observation. The same bottle of detergent ranges from £6 at the supermarket to £24 in a 130-wash bulk pack on Amazon. The 130-wash pack is much cheaper per wash, but you’d never know without doing the mathss. And nobody does the mathss.
So we do.
How we work
Three things make our recommendations different:
Cost-per-use is the metric. Not star ratings. Not popularity. Not what the brand pays us (nothing, see our disclosure). For every product, we calculate the genuine cost per wash, per tab, or per 100ml of liquid from the Amazon UK price the day we checked.
We compare against the supermarket. When the Amazon bulk pack is cheaper than the equivalent at Tesco, Sainsbury’s, or Asda, we say so. When the supermarket undercuts Amazon, which happens more than you might expect, we say that too.
Subscribe & Save honesty. Amazon’s S&S programme can save 5–15% on top of the bulk price. Or it can lure you in with a low first delivery, then quietly raise the price on subsequent ones. We track both.
Who we are
Hi, I am Jim Smith, and have started this site myself. In the past, I have worked on other domains such as TopBouldering.com and other passion projects and have over 10+ years experience reviewing products for different sites. My goal here is to provide accurate information, so you can get the cheapest products. I grew up in Bury, England and always remember my Mum trying to find the best deals on her washing up liquid! It’s what gave me the idea to do this site, it’s been a fun little project, and I hope it can help you out.
What we don’t do
- Take money from brands.
- Run sponsored content.
- Sell your data.
- Email you (no newsletter, by design).
